Japanese Friction Snake Train

Really a product of the 50’s this Snake Train toy believed to have been made bu Masudaya in Japan in the 1950’s has a little bit of everything. The toy itself is a little bizarre, a train made to look like a snake, with moving eyes yet. The toy woks, with the friction motor in the head pulling the train with rubber wheels and moving the eyes in and out. The original box, while suffering quite a bit of wear is actually more appealing than the toy. The lithographer threw in everything he could think of to appeal to a child of the era. There is the train, and Indian shooting an arrow, and a cowboy firing a gun. Then you have a little boy with a dog, another boy jumping, and a little girl with an umbrella. To top it off. a comic squirrel was added.
